DMX SETUP

LightShark offers a maximum of 8 DMX universes. Both LS-Core and LS-1 have 2 physical DMX output universes. The other DMX universes are emitted using different network protocols through the ethernet connection. LightShark does not emit DMX signal over WiFi.
The LS-1 console offers support for XLR-3 and XLR-5 connectors, however, please only use 1 of each output’s connectors at a time. The LS-Core device has 2 XLR-5 connectors.
The network protocols supported by lightShark are:
ART-NET:is a free communications protocol for the transmission of the DMX512-A lighting control protocol via UDP. It is used for communication between "nodes" and a "server".
sACN: is a set of network protocols for the control of entertainment technology equipment, especially when used in live performances or large-scale installations. ACN was initially designed to be placed over UDP/IP and will therefore work over most IP networks.
From this window it is possible to configure the DMX output settings.
ART-NET BROADCAST MODE :Allows you to select the ArtNet protocol version.
In legacy mode LightShark will use ArtNet v2 protocol.
In V4 mode LightShark will use Art-Net v4 protocol.
OUTPUT RATE: Configure the output frame rate to improve compatibility with other devices.
In continuous mode the signal is constantly emitted even if there have been changes or not. This mode implies a higher bandwidth consumption.
In reduced mode the signal is updated once per second and every time there is a change.

UNIVERSE: LightShark internal universe number, each of the 8 universes available in the console.
NAME: Label to more simply identify the universe with a description.
NETWORK OUTPUT PROTOCOL: Allows you to select the network output protocol. It is possible to choose between Art-Net and sACN or to completely disable the output of that particular universe.
NET UNIVERSE: Allows you to choose the universe on the network in which that particular internal universe will be transmitted.
BROADCAST/UNICAST: It is possible to configure the receiver of that particular universe.
The default value is broadcast , in that mode all the devices in the network will receive the information of that universe , the broadcast address is 255.255.255.255.
In case you want to send a specific universe to a specific node, you only have to enter the IP address of the node. This way it will be operating in Unicast mode.
You can adjust the network settings for DMX transmission via network area from the "Network Setup” tab. In the "DMX STREAMING" section, you can adjust the IP address and subnet mask so that lightShark can be configured in the same network as the other nodes and so that they can communicate with each other.
